Jubail in 5 Days: Coast, Old Town and Day Trips

Spend the first three days in Jubail itself: the Al Fanateer seafront and a boat trip, then the old town and Al Nakheel, then the quieter northern parks. Use days four and five for day trips south: Ithra in Dhahran with an evening at Ajdan Walk in Al Khobar, and the Heritage Village in Dammam.

Five days suits a slower pace or a long stay between work days. For less time, see the 1-day Jubail itinerary or the 3-day Jubail itinerary. Drive times come from OSRM routing on OpenStreetMap data (October 2026) and assume free-flowing traffic; add a margin at rush hour.

Day 1: How do you start five days in Jubail?

On the water. Go to the Al Fanateer Sea Front in Jubail Industrial City, which Saudipedia describes as a 19.3-hectare beach park with about one kilometre of sandy shore and a marina. Visit Saudi lists boat trips, fishing and diving from Marina Boating Fanateer, with free entry to the marina area; trips are paid separately, so confirm the price first.

With five days you can take the longer cruise. Saudipedia and Arab News both name nearby islands such as Jana, Jareed and Karan as boat destinations. End the day on the Al Fanateer Corniche, the livelier stretch with restaurants and shops (Source: Aramco Life, 2021).

Day 2: Where does Jubail's history start?

In the old town, Jubail Balad. Visit the Crease Archaeological Tower in the morning: Visit Saudi describes a Najdi-style mud and stone watchtower, about 12 metres high, with no ticket needed. Our Crease Tower page has the details.

In the late afternoon, drive about 19 km, some 18 minutes, back north to Al Nakheel Beach and Corniche Park. Visit Saudi describes shaded arish seating of palm fronds on the beach and a park with lawns, walking paths and play areas next to it.

Day 3: What is a slow day in Jubail like?

Green and unhurried. Spend it in the parks along the northern shore. Visit Saudi describes Dareen Hills Park, further north on the coast, with lawns, rose beds, sea views, umbrellas and smart lighting for evening visits. Nearby Al Andalus Park has picnic areas and running trails (Sources: Aramco Life, 2021; Arab News, 2014).

Keep the middle of the day free and go out again once the heat drops. The sea north of the city is part of the Jubail Marine Wildlife Sanctuary; the Al Jubail travel guide explains what is known about visiting it.

Day 4: Can you combine Ithra and Al Khobar in one day?

Yes, they are close together. Ithra, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Dhahran, is about 96 km and 66 minutes from the old town, or about 115 km and 80 minutes from the Al Fanateer marina. Aramco lists a museum with four galleries, a library, a cinema and a theatre; check Ithra's own site for hours and tickets.

From Ithra, Ajdan Walk is about 15 km, roughly 14 minutes, away. Visit Saudi places it on Prince Turki Road along the Al Khobar Corniche, with restaurants and international cafes, and lists it as open daily from 7:00 to 2:00. Benoy, the architects, describe it as a dining and retail destination within the Ajdan Waterfront development. The drive back to the old town is about 111 km, some 76 minutes.

Day 5: What is there to see in Dammam?

The Heritage Village. Visit Saudi describes a site of 21,000 square metres that presents the heritage of Saudi Arabia's regions, with Saudi and seafood restaurants inside, opening from midday. Visit Saudi lists ticketed entry, so check the price on its page before you go. This is the only official source we found for the Heritage Village; confirm details there.

The drive is about 91 km, roughly 70 minutes, from the old town, or about 110 km and 84 minutes from the Al Fanateer marina. Head back in time for a last evening on the Jubail seafront. Dammam, Dhahran and Al Khobar are separate cities; distances to each are on Jubail facts.
